A creepy story
Lilly
I live in London in a house. I have a lot of neighbours since I live on one of the main streets. I have a few roommates who live with me because we’re all still in college. That night it was a dark, stormy night. I was with one of my roommates. Her name was Lilly, that was her nickname actually and her name was Lilith.
None of us knew much about her because she was always mysterious in a way. She never talked much. Once when I was cleaning the hall, I came across her room. She always keeps the door closed, but that time it was left opened. Not too much, but enough for me to look in. I was curious. All there was in the room was a bookshelf and a mattress. There weren’t even sheets on the bed and the walls were so dirty, like someone put their hands in dirt and then smeared it over the walls. I really don’t like that memory. And from it I think that I have every right to be scared around her. That night she was acting super weird. We were watching a horror movie. She had her head down the entire time and her hair was covering her face. She was whispering something and her hands looked like they were cramping. I didn’t pay much attention to it since I thought she was trying to scare me. But she wasn’t. A few minutes later she had a seizure. Her body was shaking and white foam was coming from her mouth. I didn’t know what to do. I was scared. It took me a few minutes to gather myself and call the ambulance. But I was too late. Lilly died that night. And she died because of me…I couldn’t handle the guilt. I moved away to live with my parents. They lived in a lonely place, no houses around them. I liked that because I could stare at the forest and get lost there. One night I was left home alone. It was a dark, windy night. I was in the living room. A lightning struck and scared me so I looked up and thought I saw a shadow in the window, but didn’t think much of it. Not a minute later, I got a text from an unknown number. It said, ”Hello Lucy”, I replied, ”Who is this?” and they answered, ”Don’t you remember? It’s me, Lilly.” I stared at my phone not believing this so I replied, ”No, no you’re not, Lilly is dead.” I got an immediate response, ”Am I?”. I didn’t text back, neither did they. I was very confused the whole night. Just as I started to forget about it something fell in the kitchen. I went to check and one of the chairs was on the ground. Chills went through my body. Then I heard the basement door creaked so I went to check it out. The door was open and I heard shuffling downstairs. Someone or something was pacing and stomping on the floor. I was very quiet and I went downstairs.
I didn’t want to believe what I saw. It was her, Lilly. She was standing there and looking at me. ”You! You murdered me!” ”I know”, I said calmly. ”I’m just wondering, how in the world you survived. I gave you a lot. Probably enough drugs for two overdoses.” I said that with a smile. ”Lucy, you need help. You need to go to see a doctor. For God’s sake you tried to murder me!” What is she saying? I’m just fine, but I can’t have her tell everyone. I have to finish what I started…
